Marine Corps Museum
The National Marine Corps Museum immerses its patrons in the war experience. Pass through the German lines of World War II France, where Marines got the nickname “devil dogs,” or practice your marksmanship at the rifle range with standard-issue assault weapons. The museum, more so than any Smithsonian, looks at history through the memories of individual soldiers, providing personal accounts of America’s campaigns through those who knew them best. –CM / usmcmuseum.com
