6 fitness activities to sign up for this weekend

Whether you want to take a stroll through the woods or have a drink after your workout, these events will keep your heart pumping.

With the weather warming, it’s time to renew your fitness goals. So lace up your shoes and fill up your water bottle for a weekend full of yoga, biking, and other fitness activities.

Yoga on Tap

Saturday, 10 a.m.-noon
Head to the brewery for a morning of yoga and socialization. All levels of yogis will enjoy a 75-minute class to help with physical tension and mental stress, plus a post-yoga drink. Participants are asked to bring their own yoga mat, water bottle, and mask. // Ornery Beer Company Taproom: 8088 Flannery Ct., Ste. 209, Manassas; $15

Beer Run – Rocket Frog

Saturday, 11 a.m.-2 p.m.
Enjoy a run and a beer at Rocket Frog Brewing Company. Here, everyone who runs a 5k finds a refreshing beer waiting for them at the finish line. All runners get a free craft brew, collector’s pint and swag bag. // Rocket Frog Brewing Company: 22560 Glenn Dr., Ste. 103, Sterling; $30-$100

Evening Woodcock Walk

Saturday, 7 p.m.
Instead of an evening stroll in the neighborhood, take it to the forest. Traverse the trails of Huntley Meadows to try to spot the male woodcock as he performs his courtship dance. The 1.5-mile walk will be dark, so pack a flashlight. // Huntley Meadows Park: 3701 Lockheed Blvd., Alexandria; $9

Women’s history bike ride

Saturday, times vary
Close out Women’s History Month with a historical bike ride. As you ride the streets of Alexandria, learn about notable women who made a difference and the spots named after them in the city, including schools, parks, and more. Four riding sessions will be available to join. // Jones Point Park: 125 Jones Point Dr., Alexandria; free

Bootcamp & Brunch

Sunday, 9-10:30 a.m.
With the weather getting nicer, it’s time to take your workout outdoors. Start your Sunday off with a good sweat, then enjoy a delicious meal to help you refuel. Class sizes will be limited to practice social distancing. // FITNESS2GO: 12001 Sunrise Valley Dr., Reston; $25

Wildflower Walk

Sunday, 1-2 p.m.
Skip your usual run and go for a hike in the park instead. Join a park ranger at Mason Neck State Park for a scenic walk on Bayview Trail to see all of the beautiful wildflowers lining the path. Guests are asked to wear a mask and follow social-distancing protocols. // Mason Neck State Park: 7301 High Point Rd., Lorton; free
