5 indoor and outdoor workouts to join this weekend

Whether you want to take in the sunrise with a jog or get in a bootcamp workout before brunch, keep up your resolutions at one of these classes.

Now that we are almost halfway through January, keep up your resolution by joining a group class.  From a group run at sunrise to a hike and history lesson through the forest, here are five indoor and outdoor workouts you should try this weekend.

Sunrise run

Thursday, 6:30-7:30 a.m.
Rise and shine early this Thursday for a quick morning run. Take in the beautiful sunrise along the Potomac for a one-mile job before the start of your day. // Potomac Shores Parkway, Suite 100, Dumfries; free

Yoga for Kids @ Lucketts Community Center

Thursday, 3-4 p.m.
Get your little ones started in yoga with this class for kids. This introductory class will teach students about different poses, breathing techniques and how to bring mindfulness into different activities. The class will also include stories, games and group activities to bring some fun into yoga. // Lucketts Community Center: 42361 Lucketts Road, Leesburg; free

History Hike

Saturday, 10 a.m.-noon
Get in a history lesson as you hike through the forest. Spend the morning exploring everything from the farmhouse and cabin to the springhouse and rock walls. Face masks will be required. // The Clifton Institute: 6712 Blantyre Road, Warrenton; free

Bootcamp & Brunch

Sunday, 9-10:30 a.m.
Get in your weekend workout at this bootcamp then treat yourself with a delicious brunch. Enjoy the company and motivation from the group as you pack on the layers to sweat it out outdoors. // Reston Association: 12001 Sunrise Valley Drive, Reston; $25

Drop-in yoga classes

Sunday, 5:45-6:45 p.m.
Get ready for the work week by centering yourself with some yoga. The free class is open to all levels of experience. Participants will need to bring their own mat and register beforehand. // Jazzercise Herndon Reston Fitness Studio: 297 Sunset Park Drive, Herndon; free
