6 fitness activities to try this weekend

This weekend, try releasing the holiday stress with one of these running and yoga sessions around NoVA.

Take your workout out of the house and enjoy some “me” time this weekend. Whether you are looking for a quick run or a yoga session to shed the holiday stress, here are six activities to get you through the weekend.

MedStar Health Running Clinic

Thursday, 5-8 p.m.
Join sports medicine experts at The St. James for an interactive running clinic. During the class, experts will discuss and demonstrate injury assessments, posture and flexibility and individual running goals. Participants are asked to register in advance. // The St. James: 6805 Industrial Road, Springfield; free

Ugly Holiday Sweater Goat Yoga at Bear Chase Brewing Co.

Saturday & Sunday, 9 a.m. & 10:15 a.m.
Get in a festive workout at the brewery. Roll out your yoga mat and join the goats of Walnut Creek Farm for a yoga session under the heated tent. After class, get in plenty of goat snuggles and ask any goat-related questions. // Bear Chase Brewing Company: 18294 Blueridge Mountain Road, Bluemont; $40

Rooted Yoga Community Grand Opening

Saturday & Sunday, 9 a.m.-2 p.m.
A new yoga studio is opening in Woodbridge. To celebrate the opening, the studio will be offering free classes this weekend. Participants are asked to bring a face mask and their own props. // Rooted Yoga Community: 625 Harbor Side St., Woodbridge; free

Frosty 3 Miler and Reindeer Run

Saturday, 10 a.m.
Lace up your shoes and pack on the layers for the annual Frosty 3 Miler. Dress up in your favorite holiday outfits and costumes as you run along the rolling hills. Prizes will be awarded to the top finishers. // Embrey Mill Park/Jeff Rouse Swim and Sport Center: 1600 Mine Road, Stafford; $20-$35

Walk With a Naturalist

Saturday, 1-3 p.m.
Hit the trails and take in the local views of Warrenton with a local naturalist. Those in attendance will be able to explore the trails to see if they can find anything interesting. Participants must register in advance and wear a mask. // The Clifton Institute: 6712 Blantyre Road, Warrenton; free

JKS Yoga Holiday Flow & Wine Tasting

Sunday, 11 a.m.
Get ready for the holiday season with a relaxing yoga and wine session. Enjoy an hour-long vinyasa flow class then enjoy the property and connect with others with a glass from the winery. Participants will need to bring their own water, yoga mat and hand sanitizer. // Fleetwood Farm Winery: 23075 Evergreen Mills Road, Leesburg; $25
