5 Thanksgiving-themed workouts to get in this weekend

From turkey trots to flag football, get in a fun and festive workout after your turkey day meal.

With Thanksgiving coming up on Thursday, you are probably looking for a way to burn off some extra calories after your turkey feast. This weekend, instead of your usual workout at the gym, take part in one of these Thanksgiving-themed workouts for a festive training session.

1st Annual Thanksgiving Flag Football

Thursday, 11 a.m.-12:30 p.m.

Grab the pigskin and start off your turkey day celebration with a game of flag football. Line up at wide receiver or running back as the country club’s personal trainer, Kekee, will be the quarterback for both teams. // Belmont Country Club and Golf Course: 19661 Belmont Manor Lane, Ashburn; free

The Day after the Turkey Torcher Fusion

Friday, 9:30-10:30 a.m.

Work off that turkey with a morning full of dance. This virtual class features a high-intensity cardio workout with strength training throughout for a true sweat. Participants will need a set of hand weights. // free

FREE Burn the Bird Bootcamp

Friday, noon-12:30 p.m.

Get in a bootcamp workout before some afternoon shopping. This 30-minute class will take place on Facebook Live and is free to join. // free

Virtual Only – 2020 Vienna 5k, 10k, & 1M

Saturday, 8:30-11:30 a.m.

Pack on the layers and grab your running shoes for a virtual run. Choose your distance and location and just start running. This race is in partnership with Operation Turbo. // $12

2020 Wobble After Gobble 5k & 10k

Saturday, 4-7 p.m.

Wobble along Lake Accotink for a run after your turkey day feast. Enjoy a beautiful view of the lake as the sun starts to set behind the trees. This race will start in waves of 25 runners or less to ensure social distancing. // Lake Accotink: 7500 Accotink Park Road, Springfield; $12-45
