8 workouts to try during Halloween weekend

Whether you want to get in some high-intensity training or show off your costume during a yoga session, these workouts will keep you busy.

With Halloween and Day Light Savings falling back-to-back it is sure to be a jammed packed weekend. While this weekend may be busier than normal, there is always time to fit in a quick workout. From Halloween-themed Pilates to the first turkey trot of November, here are eight workouts to try this weekend.

Spooky Spectacular

Friday, 6-8 p.m.

Fairfax Pilates is turning spooky the night before Halloween. This workout will feature glow-in-the-dark equipment and glow sticks for a fun take on your usual pilates workout. After class, stay warm with a special “boo-zy” drink. // Fairfax Pilates: 10381 Main St., Fairfax; $15

Halloween Silent Disco Ride

Friday, 7:30 p.m.

Get lost in the music during your next cycling session. New Trail Cycling will be hosting a special Halloween-themed ride for an entertaining workout. Ride in the dark with silent disco headphones for a spooky bike ride. // New Trail Cycling & Strength: 1641B Washington Plaza N., Reston; $22

Boys & Girls Clubs of Fauquier 2nd Annual 5K & Kid’s Fun Run

Saturday, 8-10 a.m.

Start your Halloween morning with a fun 5K race. Wear your Halloween costume and take in the views during your morning run. Proceeds from the event will benefit the Boys & Girls Clubs of Fauquier. // Main Street, Warrenton; $15-$30

Goat Yoga Halloween Costume Party

Saturday & Sunday, 9:30-10:30 a.m.

Combine yoga, Halloween and animals for your next workout at Bear Chase Brewing. This goat yoga session will feature seated stretches, meditation and cuddles with costumed goats. Halloween CrossFit WOD & Costume Party

Saturday, 9:30-11:30 a.m.

Grab your costume for a fun-filled and spooky workout. This workout of the day will feature some punishing moves, including evil jumps and power cleans. While costumes aren’t required, prizes will be awarded to the best costumes and those who wear theirs will get free protein bars. // Sand and Steel Fitness: 5418 Eisenhower Ave., Alexandria; $15

Dread The Shred Outdoor Workout

Saturday, 9:45-10:30 a.m.

Head over to Old Ox Brewery for one final outdoor workout of the season. Join Shred415 for 45 minutes of high-intensity interval training. After you get in the burn, enjoy a spooky beer and celebrate Halloween at the brewery. // Old Ox Brewery: 44652 Guilford Drive, Suite 114, Ashburn; $20

Full Moon Hike

Saturday, 9-11 p.m.

Enjoy a clear view of the full moon on All Hallows Eve. Take a walk over to Neabsco Creek for an incredible view of the moon reflecting off the water. Participants are asked to bring a flashlight and a mask. // Neabsco Creek Boardwalk: 15125 Blackburn Road, Woodbridge; $12

Doggie-Turkey Trot

Sunday, 9-11 a.m.

Let your pup get in on your weekend workout with the first turkey trot of the year. Enjoy a hearty breakfast then start your walk or jog down the trails along the Shenandoah River. // Battleground at Cool Springs: 1400 Parker Lane, Bluemont; free
