With low temperatures becoming a norm throughout the region, it can be hard to motivate yourself to get outside and participate in physical activities that improve your overall health. But don’t worry, there are plenty of alternative ways to stretch your body and clear your mind while in the warmth of the indoors. Here, we share them all.

“Walk-Fit” Mall Walking Program
Every Tuesday and Thursday, 8:30 a.m.
Each week, the Virginia Hospital Center sponsors a group walk through Fashion Centre at Pentagon City before shoppers make their way into local stores. During the one-hour session, you’ll participate in low-impact laps throughout the mall, get a great workout and meet NoVA residents of all ages. Plus, the morning walk is followed by a flexibility session led by hospital staff. // Fashion Centre at Pentagon City: 100 S. Hayes St., First Floor, Arlington; free

Healthy Living Walking Group
Every Sunday, 11 a.m.-1 p.m.
Join local community members for a leisurely walk inside Tysons Galleria every Sunday in the colder months. The weekly event will give you the chance to stretch your legs while staying warm, enjoy friendly conversation and get a complimentary coffee when the workout ends. All participants should meet at Starbucks on level one of Tysons Galleria. // Tysons II: 2001 International Drive, First Floor, McLean; free

Healthy Living Programs with Virginia Hospital Center
Dates and times vary

From gentle yoga offered five times a week to strength sessions that give you the chance to stretch your muscles and joints, each class is led by hospital staff members who are dedicated to motivating you toward a healthier lifestyle. The organization’s latest addition? A workshop dedicated to boosting balance. To drop-in to one of this season’s workouts, click here. // locations vary; prices vary
