Fun Food
I’m so excited about finding a banh mi that I really enjoyed at 5T Ice that I’m going back for another. But as important as duck, pickled veggies, and crispy bread are in my life, part of my motivation is trying more of the takeout spot’s frozen desserts. Last time, I had a halo-halo. This time, I plan to have a mangonada. Or a buko pandan. Or both. // 24555 Dulles Landing Dr., Sterling –Alice Levitt, food editor/critic

R&R
I could definitely use some rejuvenation at the moment, so I’m checking our recent Best Spas guide for ideas. Anything scrubby and fragranced sounds great right now. –Kelly Kendall, editor

Vacation bound
After a crazy busy spring, I’m ready kick off the unoffical start of summer. Cue my Memorial Day beach trip. Since I haven’t been to the beach since I was a kid, I’m going to skip the stress and use this itinerary for a trip to Tilghman Island. But before I go, I’m stocking up on some local beach essentials to fill out my beach bag (and ensure I don’t get my first sunburn of the year). –Michele Kettner, associate digital and research editor
