4 Extravagant Indoor Mini Golf Courses in Northern Virginia and DC

Take your game inside with these immersive options, with one more on the way.

By Michele Kettner December 16, 2024 at 12:49 pm

Just because a wintry chill has settled over Northern Virginia doesn’t mean you have to say goodbye to one of your favorite summer pastimes. Instead, take your mini golf game indoors and be amazed by high-tech courses, animatronics, and menus that’ll make you feel like you are anywhere but a golf course. Here are four indoor mini golf courses to try. (Plus, one more coming soon.)

Monster Mini Golf

Everything that goes bump in the night resides at this glow-in-the-dark course. Beware of the animated monsters that’ll try to jinx your shot at every hole with jumps, squawks, and punny jokes. Each location has artwork created by local artists with scenes relating to that specific city, so you’ll never get the same experience no matter which Monster Mini Golf course you visit. 14130 Sullyfield Cir., Ste. G, Chantilly; 308 Worth Ave., Ste. 109 Stafford

Puttery DC

No matter which course you select, you’ll be wowed by the immersive experience at Puttery. Choose between the art museum, conservatory, and illusion courses, each of which features nine holes that perfectly fit the theme. Plus, make sure you come hungry because the menu is for foodies — with notable items like steak frites, jambalaya pasta, and brunch favorites. 800 F St. NW, Washington, DC

ShadowLand Laser Adventures

As you wait for your game of laser tag, try your hand at this new interactive glow golf experience. Enter the Dark Tower to find cauldrons, knights, and plenty of dragons hidden along the course. 5508 Franconia Rd., Alexandria

Swingers DC

Enter this 1920s English golf clubhouse to feel like you’ve been completely transported from DC. This indoor mini golf spot features two nine-hole courses to choose from: the Clocktown Course and the Waterwheel Course. Grab a cocktail or drink before tee time and sip it throughout the course, as tables are located at every hole. 1330 19th St. NW, Washington, DC

Coming Soon

Puttshack

We are just months away from Puttshack’s first Northern Virginia location opening its doors. Coming this summer, the new mini golf spot features over-the-top courses you’d expect to see in a video game. From Connect Four to air hockey, this high-tech putting course will change your feelings about mini golf for the better. 1850 Reston Row Plz., Reston
