Dinner and a Movie? These 4 NoVA Theaters Offer Both

Elevate movie night at these date-worthy spots.

By Haley Huchler October 16, 2023 at 10:44 am

At dine-in theaters, moviegoers can enjoy the cultural and the culinary all at once, and usually from a cushy reclining seat. These theaters promise not only to put on a good film, but to do it in style, with full dinner menus and plenty of beverage options, from local brews to craft cocktails. Here are four movie theaters in Northern Virginia where you can enjoy dinner, a show, and comfortable seats.

CMX CineBistro Tysons Galleria

Moviegoers seeking an elevated cinema experience should check out the new CMX CineBistro at Tysons Galleria. The theater promises an authentic “dinner and a movie” experience with its full-service in-theater dining. The menu includes impressive dishes like blackened salmon and wagyu beef sliders. Traditional movie concessions are also offered. Guests will feel pampered  in this theater that provides cozy, oversized recliner seats and audiovisual technology like laser projection and sound enhancements provided by Dolby Atmos. 1651 International Dr., McLean

Alamo Drafthouse Cinema

This stylish theater is a favorite of many moviegoers for its service and wide variety of showings. At the Alamo, the art of cinema is celebrated with different events each month, like reshowings of classics and menus that pair with specific films. Food and signature cocktails can be ordered at any time throughout the shows. Each Alamo Drafthouse location highlights and promotes local craft breweries, so beer options are plentiful. Multiple area locations

Look Dine-In Cinema

Coming to Reston Town Center on November 2, this theater promises a premium movie-watching experience with smooth and uninterrupted service. Customers can order and pay from their phones. Large screens, state-of-the-art sound, and luxurious seating makes enjoying your food and the film all the easier. 11940 Market St., Reston

Arlington Cinema and Drafthouse

One of Arlington’s favorite haunts is more than a movie theater — the Arlington Cinema and Drafthouse also puts on live stand-up comedy shows. The historic art deco theater has been around since 1940, but don’t think that means it hasn’t kept up with the times. With a full menu, a stocked bar, and tableside service, be sure to come hungry. Enjoy a flatbread or burger while you watch discounted films or partake in a weekend-long film festival, and save room for desserts like lava cake or the Drafthouse sundae. 2903 Columbia Pk., Arlington
