Catch a Movie at a Drive-In Theater

Watch your favorite films on the big screen, all from the comfort of your own car.

Car keys and popcorn — all you need for the perfect night of summertime entertainment. From animated features to newly released blockbusters, make sure to catch a showing at one of these drive-in theaters in DMV.  

Bengies Drive-In Theatre 

At Bengies, enjoy movies not only on the big screen, but the biggest screen in the U.S. Bengies shows double features during the week and triple features on Fridays and Saturdays. And, the theater makes sure you won’t leave with an empty stomach. Enjoy the venue’s selection of popcorn, burgers, hotdogs, nachos, pizza, and soda floats. 3417 Eastern Blvd., Middle River, Maryland, $12.50 for 11 and older, $7 for 4–10, free for 3 and under 

Drive time from Dulles: 1 hour, 30 minutes 

Upcoming films: The Little Mermaid, Barbie, Mission: Impossible – Dead Reckoning Part One, Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Mutant Mayhem 

Goochland Drive-In Theater 

Head to the Goochland Drive-In Theater for an evening of cinema with low-price snacks. Watch the movie from your car or bring chairs and blankets to enjoy the experience on the lawn. Munch on popcorn, candy, burgers, hot dogs, chicken nuggets, and soft pretzels while the summer flick plays. 4344 Old Fredericksburg Rd., Hadensville, $25 per vehicle, up to 7 people  

Drive time from Dulles: 2 hours 

Upcoming films: Willy Wonka & the Chocolate Factory, Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse, Indiana Jones and the Dial of Destiny 

Starlight Cinema

This August, take your kids to Starlight Cinema for an evening of free, family-friendly fun. Before the movie starts, there will be a children’s show at 7 p.m. You can bring food to the venue, along with chairs and blankets if you prefer to sit outside of your car. 5875 Trinity Pkwy., Centreville, free 

Drive time from Dulles: 15 minutes 

Upcoming films: Minions: The Rise of Gru, Lightyear, The Bad Guys, DC League of Super-Pets 

The Family Drive-In Theatre 

With two double-feature screens, there’s no shortage of entertainment at the Family Drive-In Theatre. This venue is pet-friendly, and movies are played rain or shine. Plus, there is a concession stand where you can load up on classic movie fare, such as popcorn, candy, ice cream, and soda. The concession stand also serves hot items like pizza, burgers, and fries. 5890 Valley Pk., Stephens City, $10 for 13 and older, $5 for 3–12, free for 2 and under
