Best of NoVA: 4 Date-Night Itineraries

Need inspiration for a first date or for a 100th date? Try one of these itineraries, featuring Best of NoVA winners.

By Natalie Gontcharova June 26, 2023 at 10:26 am

These date-night itineraries feature some of our Best of NoVA winners. All you have to do is go.

Your First Date

Warm-up: Check out Perch Putt in Tysons, located 11 stories up at Capital One Center. With mini golf, food trucks, and frozen cocktails, you’ll have plenty to distract you if things get awkward.

Main event: If things are going well, stay atop the Capital One Center and grab bites and brews at Starr Hill Biergarten. There’s often live music and a great view, which sets a romantic, adventurous mood.

Nightcap: If things are going really well, drive over to Salt in Rosslyn for a cocktail.

An Artistic Rendezvous

Warm-up: Start out at Gallery Underground in Crystal City, where you can find cutting-edge visual art.

Main event: Book an early dinner at Peter Chang in Arlington and enjoy unforgettable signature Chinese dishes.

Nightcap: Check out a show at Wolf Trap, where you can find music for a variety of tastes.

Romance + Activity

Warm-up: Get your climb on at Sportrock Sterling, a premier indoor rock-climbing gym that also features fitness classes.

Main event: Head over to Moby Dick House of Kabob in Sterling for lunch to fuel up on protein.

Cap it off: Take the nearest exit to the W&OD Trail and wrap up the day with a long walk or hike.

Your 100th Date

Warm-up: Grab a few different bites and some cocktails on the rooftop at Arlington’s Wilson Hardware. Ah, to feel young again.

Main event: Liven things up with some stand-up comedy at Arlington Cinema & Drafthouse. If you decide to end your night here, you’ll still be home at a reasonable time. Most shows start around 7 p.m.

Nightcap: Top off the night with a glass of cabernet sauvignon at The Wine House or a Guinness at The Auld Shebeen. Both are in Fairfax.
