Brunches, Sips, and Screenings: Where to Celebrate Galentine’s Day in NoVA

The holiday has taken hold in NoVA, with shops, eateries, and even theaters hosting special events.

By Kate Oczypok February 8, 2022 at 3:47 pm

Created a dozen years ago by the great television character Leslie Knope of Parks and Recreation, Galentine’s Day is February 13. Here are five ways to spend the day with your favorite females.

Galentine’s Day Sip & Shop

Lifestyle boutique Mode on Main by Mara is hosting a private, after-hours shopping event this weekend. Enjoy personal styling, promos, food, rosé, and more with your favorite friends and you. Act quickly because there’s only one more timeslot available, Friday February 11 from 8-9 p.m. Mode on Main by Mara has lots of clothes and accessories for women of all ages. They represent smaller designers with diversity and sustainability always at the top of their needs. They also have a hair salon just around the corner from their boutique, with makeover experiences (they also go live every Friday at 5:30 p.m. on Instagram). Happy shopping! Mode on Main by Mara: 10417 Main St., Fairfax

Magic Mike: Galentine’s Day Event

Fancy a screening of the movie starring Channing Tatum and Joe Manganiello? Angelika Film Center & Café at Mosaic is hosting a special Galentine’s Day screening of the film Sunday February 13 at 7 p.m. Take all your girls to enjoy the tale set in the world of exotic male dancing. You’ll never look at the song “Pony” by Genuwine the same again. Angelika Film Center & Cafe at Mosaic: 2911 District Ave., Fairfax

Galentine’s Day Brunch

The seafood restaurant Whiskey & Oyster is hosting a Galentine’s Day Brunch (mimosas and all!). Brunch includes a special menu with items like lemon blueberry beignets, strawberry banana waffles, and more. The brunch will be February 13 from 11 a.m. until 3 p.m. Whiskey & Oyster: 301 John Carlyle St., Alexandria

Galentine’s Day at Lost Barrel Brewing with Beautiful Blooms

Head just a little farther down to Lost barrel Brewing in Loudoun County for an afternoon with the ladies. For $50, you get a choice of one glass of wine or beer and a floral arranging class with blooms2u. Blooms2u will provide fresh seasonal flowers and share advice. All supplies will be provided for the event, which runs from 12 noon to 1:30 p.m. Ticket sales end Saturday February 12 at noon and guests are asked to arrive by 11:45 a.m. Lost Barrel Brewing: 36138 John Mosby Hwy., Middleburg

“Be Mine” Mini Vendor Market

Celebrate love with this mini market at Lost Boy Cider in Alexandria. Hot chocolate cherry cider will be on hand while you check out local vendors like The Neon Camel and FourTwentyThree Fine Jewelry. There will also be live ear piercing from Creative Chaos (it’s advised to plan your piercing before you start drinking!). The market runs Sunday from 12 to 4 p.m. Lost Boy Cider: 317 Hooffs Run Dr., Alexandria
