Five pieces that keep you comfortable without compromising style-Angela Bobo

Everyone loves a Target designer collaboration, and while many of the past features have been amazing, none of them have truly embodied my personal sense of style like this month’s Peter Pilotto for Target collection. Many of the pieces have a resort feel, mixing classic and relaxed silhouettes with the designer’s signature use of prints. This skirt immediately caught my eye because of its pattern and versatility. I can dress it up with a blazer and button-down for work, or throw on a graphic tee for a funkier flare. Peter Pilotto for

Black pants are the ultimate work wardrobe staple, but the typical pair of slacks can become boring especially if your dress code calls for business casual attire. The relaxed shape and banded ankle almost give them a sweat-pant feel, but they are streamlined enough to fit into a professional environment. The print is interesting without being too distracting. I would pair these with smoking flats or pumps for an easy look. Peter Pilotto for Target Pant in Black/White Print, $34.99; target.com

Mini-bags were extremely popular in many spring/summer collections, and this one blends colors and textures for a winning combination. I am a huge fan of black and cognac together and have toted around the same oversized purse in the colorway for about two years now. The vintage inspired padding contrasted with the modern gold metal clasps is unexpected, making it the perfectly unique piece to add it to my collection—and give my current fave a break.

I honestly have a very serious obsession with black-and-white striped pieces. The timeless print manages to continually look new when combined with interesting shapes. The thicker lines on this piece are bold, but work when balanced with a swingy and slightly cropped fit. It is also the perfect throw- and-go piece, as the beaded neckline makes jewelry one less thing to worry about when getting dressed. I would pair this with a flirty flared mini-skirt for a fun and chic outfit. Top With Beaded Neck, $79.90; zara.com

This sweater is the perfect transitional piece to take you from winter to spring. Layer it over a long sleeved shirt for extra warmth, or throw it over a tank top or swim suit for a beach vacay. I love the way that it is styled on the model with crisp white jeans for a fresh monochromatic look. If you want a little more edge, ankle-length biker boots and a leather jacket will create an effortless hard-meets-soft look. Need Supply Co. Heirloom Sweater, $76; needsupply.com
