The Providence is a brand-new assisted living and memory care community in Fairfax’s MetroWest neighborhood that prides itself on offering a truly tailored approach to memory care.
We understand that caring for an aging loved one faced with dementia or Alzheimer’s can be overwhelming, so we’d like to introduce ourselves as a resource. Our team of experts is ready to answer your questions and share more about our supportive, one-of-a-kind community.
Our approach to memory care is nurturing, loving, and thoroughly person-centered.
Our Memory Care associates, called “Nayas,” which means “guide” or “person of wisdom” in Sanskrit, provide custom care with an innate understanding of what will help Memory Care residents thrive, fostering a sense of well-being among residents. Focused on care for the mind, body, and soul, all of our Nayas are Certified Dementia Practitioners, trained extensively on caring for and engaging with residents suffering from memory loss.
Our Memory Care residents enjoy a private courtyard and dedicated amenity areas, along with several signature programs. We’ve designed programs that celebrate what speaks to each individual. We strive to exceed expectations and break down the barriers of what’s possible for those with memory loss. Our programs are not just entertaining, but engaging and educational as well.
- Watermark University provides an opportunity for residents, associates, and family members to continue learning, growing, and achieving wellness with customized courses based on personal passions, experiences, and areas of interest.
- The Pantry Program gives residents a personal pantry stocked with favorite foods and snacks, as well as photographs and mementos, they can access at any time. Our Nayas are dedicated to getting to know each resident and finding ways to connect individually. For one retired veteran who had served abroad, our team surprised him with a device to tap out Morse code, which prompted him to share stories and memories.
- Gourmet Bites Cuisine is a pioneering process that transforms delicious menu items into nutritious, visually pleasing, and easily handheld portions for residents with cognitive, physical, or neuromuscular challenges.
- EngageVR offers a virtual reality exercise that keeps the brain active while providing uplifting and educational experiences, allowing residents to visit the Great Pyramid of Giza, stroll along the Seine River in Paris, or visit the street they grew up on. More than a novel form of entertainment, virtual reality technology has been proven to help those with cognitive impairment. Recent studies have shown that exposing people with dementia to different environments via virtual reality can trigger memories, help with recall, and boost moods.
The Providence offers hospitality, service, and best-in-class care. We are here to help you navigate the process to provide your loved ones with the support they need in a loving, respectful, and nurturing environment. Please call 571-396-0500 or visit www.providencefairfax.com to speak with an associate. We look forward to connecting with you.
