2. Download the Virginia Wine app for quick and easy access on-the-go.
Access saved itineraries, view upcoming events and browse through wine region maps to experience Virginia’s wine country like never before—from the convenience of your phone.
Who says your next stop has to be planned? If you find yourself passing through the picturesque countryside, you can search for nearby wineries and see their offerings. It’s the perfect opportunity to be spontaneous and take advantage of a beautiful spring day.
3. Sip on award-winning wines with the Gold Medal Wine Trail.
The Virginia Governor’s Cup®, hosted by the Virginia Wineries Association, is the state’s most stringent wine competition. After sampling a record-breaking 544 entries in 2021, world-class judges awarded 47 wineries, cideries, and meaderies with 96 gold medals.
The Gold Medal Wine Trail brings gold medal-winning wineries right to your fingertips. By signing up at taste.virginiawine.org, consumers have access to the passport—which includes discounts and prizes—on their mobile device through the end of the year.
Passholders who check in at 12 participating locations will be eligible for a free Virginia Wine wine tumbler, while supplies last. Select wineries are offering their own redeemable deals, too. From free tastings of gold medal-winning wine to discounts on bottle purchases, the trail opens the door to an exclusive Virginia Wine experience.
Wherever your journey takes you, we’re confident you’ll see the grace, grit, and experimental spirit driving Virginia Wine forward.
