Next Round of FCPS Boundary Review Meetings Start Soon

See the schedule for the next wave of community meetings.

By Maggie Roth September 5, 2025 at 10:52 am

Fairfax County Public Schools is continuing its school boundary review process with a new wave of community meetings.

Last fall, FCPS began its first review of school boundaries in four decades. It has held several waves of community meetings and hired a consulting firm. The firm analyzed community feedback from the meetings and online submissions to create three potential boundary change scenarios.

Those scenarios were made viewable on an online Boundary Explorer Tool, which allowed users to input their address and see how they could be affected. Users could then give feedback on the potential scenarios online.

Those boundaries are still viewable, but users can no longer submit feedback through the Boundary Explorer Tool.

Upcoming Meetings

Now, FCPS is moving into Phase 2 (Part 1) of its boundary review process, which includes another round of meetings, Superintendent Michelle Reid announced.

These meetings will be hybrid; the community can attend in–person or virtually via Zoom.
