Here’s a late wedding present most people don’t get: a $1 million lottery ticket.
Aaron Andrews’ father bought the Cash4Life ticket for an August 3 drawing at PJ’s Neighborhood Variety Store in Triangle. The computer randomly selected the ticket’s numbers.
He matched five numbers and had a choice of either $1,000 every week for life or a one-time cash option of $1 million.
The dad gave the ticket to his son who had gotten married in April and was living with his new wife in his dad’s basement.
Aaron opted for the $1 million payout. “I have a great father who has done nothing but look out for me!” Aaron told Virginia Lottery officials.
He plans to use the money to buy a home.
Dad’s reaction (a joke, of course): “This was the best way to get him out of my basement.”
