New rules for Airbnb in Fairfax County; Temperatures drop across DMV region

After 18 months of construction, Patrick Henry School and Patrick Henry Neighborhood Recreation Center opened its doors earlier this week in Alexandria. The $62.8 million project expanded Patrick Henry from a 65-student, elementary school into a 900-student kindergarten through eighth grade school. (Alexandria Times)

Cold temperatures prompted many school delays this morning as wind chills made the it feel between zero-10 degrees across the region. Afternoon highs are only expected to reach the low 20s, and wind chills will remain in the five-15 degree range. (WTOP)

Loudoun United FC announced its head coach on Tuesday. Richie Williams will lead the soccer team, and tryouts will be held on Feb. 9, at Loudoun Soccer Park. (Loudoun Times-Mirror)

Fairfax County approved new rules for people who rent out their homes on Airbnb and FlipKey. The new rules take effect on Oct. 1, and allow the owners to rent out their primary residence for up to 60 nights per calendar year. (WTOP)
