The Brambleton Library will open to the public this Saturday, Dec. 1, at 1 p.m. The library is a 40,000-square-foot building and features things like three large meeting rooms; a makerspace with 3D printers, sewing equipment and a recording studio; 10 study rooms and a gaming room.

A report released on Monday called “Blueprint for Regional Mobility” offered possible solutions to improve traffic from Richmond to Baltimore. While the report does include plans that are already being implemented, additional ideas include ones like charging drivers for entering congested areas in D.C. or Northern Virginia.

NASA’s InSight lander successfully landed on Mars on Monday afternoon, the eighth man-made device to land on the red planet. The craft will use a seismometer, a heat sensor and radio antenna to probe Mars’ interior over the next two years.

The town of Dumfries has moved its elections for town council from May to November. The move will take effect during the 2020 election.

Some romaine lettuce is going back on the shelves, as federal health officials determined that only lettuce from some parts of California are currently unsafe to eat. Lettuce entering the market will now be labeled with info on when and where it was harvested.
