Arlington identifies solution to Reagan National ride-share lot; Lyft looking to pay 50 D.C.-area people to go one month without car

Following complaints from Arlington residents about Reagan National Airport’s ride-share lot between Jefferson Davis Highway and South Eads Street, the county is considering reopening the 27th Street exit so that ride-share drivers can exit the lot more quickly.

Until Sept. 30, interested D.C.-area residents can enter into a drawing to ditch their car for one month and be awarded $300 worth of Lyft Shared credit, a Zipcar membership and $100 credit, a one-month Metro pass and also one-month Capital Bikeshare Membership.

Starting next week, up to 750 electric scooters and bikes will be able to operate in Arlington County via a “demonstration project.”

Though residents voiced their opposition to a new Little Ambassadors’ Academy at Arlington’s 5801 and 5901 Lee Highway, the county approved the childcare center’s permit. The center is set to open in February or March of 2019.

Tuesday, the Leesburg Town Council discussed adding Compass Creek to the town’s limits, and will now submit a formal boundary line adjustment request to the county. If approved, the Loudoun County Circuit Court will then have final approval.
