First Bite: Circa’s 4th DMV Location Opens at The Boro in Tysons

The newest Tysons bistro has a menu full of trendy, creative American fare.

Residents of The Boro at Tysons rejoice: your new hangout has arrived with Circa. The fourth DMV location for this popular bistro, Circa at The Boro offers creative American fare in a comfortable setting.

Small plates pack big flavor, especially the shotgun shrimp — flash fried and lightly tossed with tangy sweet chili sauce, red bell pepper, Broccolini, jicama slaw, and micro cilantro. This medley of flavors — sweet, savory, spicy — sets the bar very high for the rest of the meal.

Salad options are plentiful, with proteins available as add-ons. We favored the Caesar salad with crunchy brioche breadcrumbs, offering a memorable take on the classic.

Numerous fish, poultry, pasta, and beef options balance the seasonally curated menu. For a satisfying winter meal, try the braised short rib, artfully accompanied by roasted garlic mashed potatoes, sauteed baby spinach, red wine jus, and topped with crispy onions. The slow-cooked beef falls apart without a knife, and tastes as good as it looks. Seafood lovers: try the amply-portioned almond crusted rainbow trout for a surprising mix of crunch and citrus zest accentuating the mild fish.

Considering dessert? Bravo to the brioche bread pudding, surrounded by white chocolate, bourbon crème anglaise, and caramel, dolloped with vanilla bean ice cream. It’s large enough for the table to share, and delivers subtle, rich caramel flavor. 1675 Silver Hill Dr., McLean
