First Bite: Milk & Honey Café Brings New Orleans–Style Brunch Fare to Ashburn

This is the seventh location of the DMV-based Southern food franchise, known for signature dishes like shrimp and grits and a RumChata French toast.

“There’s no eggs-cuse to miss brunch” – that’s the catchy phrase painted across the entrance to the newly-opened Milk & Honey Café in Ashburn. Diners crowd into this busy Southern restaurant in the Wegmans-anchored Dulles Retail Plaza, the franchise’s seventh location (and the second in NoVA). Its New Orleans–themed brunch offers indulgent winners like crab hash, catfish and grits, chicken and waffles, RumChata French toast, and other mouth-watering specialties.

Chef Sammy’s award-winning shrimp and grits is a doozy and worth your order. It includes jumbo shrimp, turkey sausage, tomatoes, and scallions served over cheesy grits with a decadent Cajun cream sauce. We dare you to try to eat the whole glorious dish.

There is no shortage of alcohol flowing at Milk & Honey, as multicolored mimosa flights, brunch punch, adult Kool-Aid, and bloody marys continually breeze by. The cafe offers counter dining at the cozy bar, tables, and even a comfy, pillow-filled nook in the back for large groups to gather. Service is friendly and accommodating, despite the crush of guests parading in to give the café a try.

Bring the whole family here for a lively brunch, with compelling menu items to transport you to the Big Easy. Laissez les bons temps rouler (or “let the good times roll”) at Milk & Honey Café. 22000 Dulles Retail Plz., Ste. 186, Dulles
