Ben & Jerry’s is spreading joy with its annual Free Cone Day on Tuesday, April 8, from 12 to 8 p.m.
No minimum purchase is required. Participating locations in Northern Virginia include Reston Town Center, Fairfax Corner, Vienna, and Old Town Alexandria. And the Old Town Alexandria location is partnering with a local nonprofit, with every $1 waffle cone or extra scoop benefiting a local cause, ALXNow reported.
Free Cone Day has been an annual tradition for the iconic ice cream brand since 1979 — it first started as a way to thank its customers for a successful first year in business and has since grown to a global event.
“Free Cone Day has always been about gratitude – we want to thank our fans for being the best fans in the world with free ice cream and a moment of pure joy,” Dave Stever, Ben & Jerry’s CEO, said in a press release. “This year, more than ever, we’re reminded how powerful those small moments of happiness can be.”
Scoop shops globally celebrate this beloved day one scoop at a time, attracting fans in over 35 countries. After serving over 1 million free scoops last year, Ben & Jerry’s is looking to surpass the milestone this year.
Customers can even get back in line for a second scoop of flavors such as Americone Dream and Marshmallow Sky. You won’t want to miss out on one of the sweetest days of the year.
