What to expect at this year’s Black Olive Block Party series

Returning for its second year, the event aims to celebrate Loudoun County’s community, with emphasis on great food, wine and beer.

By Jennifer Zeleski April 24, 2019 at 4:30 pm

With block parties planned for Friday, April 26 (5 to 8 p.m.), Friday, July 26 and Friday, Sept. 20, The National Conference Center’s courtyard will welcome guests each time with local food, live music, wine tastings, beer taps and family-friendly activities.

The event has free admission with food and drink tickets sold at the door, $15 for a beer and wine tasting ticket, or $6 for a full plate ticket or full beer or wine pour ticket.

A portion of the proceeds will be donated to a chosen Loudoun County nonprofit at each gathering, with the April 26 event benefiting Loudoun Habitat for Humanity.

The National Conference Center is also offering the “Block Party Package” with guest room and deluxe suite stays ranging from $109 to $159 a night, with accommodations including a full weekend breakfast buffet, complimentary parking and a $10 gift card to Black Olive Bar & Grill.

Black Olive Grill & Bar’s executive chef, Frank Estremera, will feature samplings of locally sourced products, such as CEA Farm-sourced hot dogs topped with Estremera’s signature chili. Other restaurants such as Lothar’s Butchery and Gourmet Sausages, The Conche, Delirium Café of Leesburg and Balls of Glory will also be in attendance.
