After Valentine’s Day, NOVA Parks and Alexandria’s animal shelter hope you have a little extra love to share with homeless animals. The shelter needs pet supplies.
The park agency and the Animal Welfare League of Alexandria are asking people to bring donations of its most needed pet supplies to the ice skating rink at Cameron Run between 11 a.m. and 5 p.m. on Sunday, February 19 for it “Share the Love” event.
In exchange for your donation, you can get $1 off of ice skating admission when you use the promo code AWLA23 and purchase tickets online for Sunday. The tickets are good for ice skating and skate rental.
The Animal Welfare League of Alexandria needs new and gently used pet supplies.
The shelter also has a list of pet supplies it needs on Amazon, as well as on Chewy.
The shelter cannot accept animal prescription medications (other than flea, tick or heartworm preventatives), metal crates, used litter boxes, used cat trees, pillows, sheets or comforters, knit blankets, sleeping bags, Styrofoam products, rugs or carpets, newspapers, plastic bags, or human clothing.
The ice rink is located at Cameron Run Regional Park, 4001 Eisenhower Ave. in Alexandria.
