Family Line
By John H. Matthews

Ever since he was a child, Wesley has had dreams in which he would see people that he cares about die, only for them to eventually die in similar fashions. This burden has caused him to isolate himself on the outskirts of his small Oklahoma town. When an old love comes back to town he begins to let his guard down, only to be confronted by his most vivid dream yet, which leads him to make the choice from being a witness to a killer.

The Impossibility of Us
By Katy Upperman

Following the death of her brother in Afghanistan, Elise and her mom move to a sleepy coastal California village to be near her sister-in-law and niece. Shortly after arriving, Elise meets Mati and the two form a special friendship that develops into much more over the summer. But as the two of them grow closer, Elise’s family becomes more resistant to their relationship because of the fact that Mati is Afghan, putting Elise between her family and the boy she is falling in love with.
