Julie Lythcott-Haims on ‘How to Raise an Adult: Break Free from the Overparenting Trap and Prepare Your Kid for Success’
Lythcott-Haims will discuss how and why everyone has to stop overparenting, the topic of her book. The former dean of freshmen at Stanford University draws upon her experience with overbearing parents and cites studies correlating mental illness with affluent children. Writers of Chantilly Local Writers Event
Both the Writers of Chantilly and eager young writers from Fairfax County come together to host this local authors reading. WC members will read original stories, essays and poems that all surround the theme of secrets. Meet former Executive Editor of National Geographic Robert M. Poole
Poole’s book “On Hallowed Ground: The Story of Arlington National Cemetery” will be available for sale and signing. Poole was the editor of National Geographic for 21 years and retired in 2001. In the Company of Laureates
Cohosted by Write by the Rails, the Prince William chapter of the Virginia Writers Club and the Poetry Society of Virginia, this event brings together more than 20 poets laureate from neighboring states, including local Mary McElveen from Alexandria.
