Locavore and Rooftop Bar Folklore Open in Fredericksburg This Weekend 

Find locally sourced “New American” fare at this upscale eatery.

Locavore, a new upscale casual restaurant in Fredericksburg, and its rooftop bar, Folklore, are both open to the public this weekend after a soft-opening phase. The restaurant will have a rotating menu with a focus on locally sourced food.

The restaurant is headed by chef Dan Perron, the former executive chef at Trummer’s in Clifton. Perron said that Lovacore will be chef-driven and will have a significant emphasis on sourcing foods from Mid-Atlantic farms. And, the kitchen boasts a custom-made konro grill that will have a large influence on the bill of fare.

The menu will change constantly, but the cuisine will be primarily “New American,” with some influences from Perron’s Korean heritage. Some dishes include a pork chop with sweet potato and fig gochujang and kalbi marinated beef skewers.  

The 45-seat restaurant is located in a renovated space in historic downtown Fredericksburg at 314 William St.

The restaurant’s rooftop bar, Folklore, is influenced by Perron’s frequent trips to Charleston, South Carolina. The bar will have frozen cocktails and southern-inspired small bites.  

You can book reservations for Locavore on Resy. Reservations are highly recommended due to the small dining space. Folklore is walk-in only and seated on a first-come, first-served basis.
