The historic town of Middleburg wants you to keep active and look and feel your best. To stress the point, it’s hosting Middleburg Wellness Day on Saturday, April 12, from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the town’s Community Center, located at 300 W. Washington Street.
Middleburg Wellness Day Races
True to the theme, the day starts by getting attendees moving. A 5K race and 1-mile kids fun run start at 8:30 a.m. Both races begin and end behind the Middleburg Community Center and take participants through the picturesque town; 5K runners will also loop through Salamander Resort.
Race registration is $25 for the 5K and $10 for the fun run if you sign up before April 11. Same-day registration is $30 for the 5K and $15 for the fun run. The top male and female finisher, and the first, second, and third place finishers in each age category will win awards.
Refreshments will be available for all runners and supporters after the race. White Hall Farm will also be on site to host “Hugs with Hounds” at the finish line. The dogs are Penn-Marydel hounds known for their keen ability to follow scents and their distinctive howls.
Other Wellness Day Activities
Local health and wellness businesses will also be on hand at more than 20 vendor booths. They include May Aesthetics, Middleburg Acupuncture and Apothecary, Light of Lotus Massage, Imagine Life Coaching, and Primus Physical Therapy.
Middleburg Wellness Day will also feature health-focused presentations and interactive demonstrations, including CPR education and yoga and Tai Chi sessions.
