Pets of the Month: Give These 5 Pets New Homes

A friendly pup, a set of bonded cats, and a duo of bunnies are in search of forever homes.

Ready to add a new member to your family? Each month, Northern Virginia Magazine highlights some of the many adoptable pets in area shelters and rescues to be featured as our pets of the month. This month, check out playful dog Wilson and bonded bunnies Buttercream and Marshmallow at the Fairfax County Animal Shelter, plus feline brothers Jesse and Jerry at Mount Purrnon Cat Café.

Meet Wilson

Wilson is an adventurous 5-year-old mixed-breed dog who loves to go for walks and play. He’s an active dog with a fun-loving personality, and he enjoys playing with squeaky toys, learning new tricks, and he absolutely loves to play with tennis balls. When the adventure is done, he’s sweet and snuggly, too. Wilson has been at the Fairfax County Animal Shelter since January 6, 2023, nearly a year ago.

Meet Jesse and Jerry

Bonded brothers Jesse (left) and Jerry (right) are a dynamic duo. Jesse, age 3, is calm and likes to be held and cuddled, while Jerry, age 2, brings the energy with a passion for laser toys, wand toys, and time spent playing with his brother. The two felines get along well with children, as well as dogs and other cats. Their adoption fees from Mount Purrnon Cat Café have been sponsored.

Meet Buttercream and Marshmallow

These sugar-sweet bunnies at the Fairfax County Animal Shelter are a bonded duo looking for a forever home. Both bunnies are almost 2 years old and are brother and sister. They love to snuggle together. The pets are a little shy at first, but quickly warm up to reveal their fun personalities. While they prefer not to be held, they make excellent companions that will snuggle up next to you.
