The number of Virginia residents seeking treatment for health-related illnesses doubled from July 2018 to July 2019. As of Sunday, July 21, 1,062 people had visited emergency units or urgent-care clinics for treatment, whereas 584 had visited in the same time period last year, according to the Virginia Department of Health. After 11 days of being lost, Max, the missing golden retriever, has been found in Shenandoah National Park by two hikers. Max was found in a low, partially hidden spot and immediately recognized after seeing prominent flyers throughout the park. He has been reunited with his family. (WTOP)
Devils Backbone Brewing Company of Lexington is set to release Capit-Ale, a brew inspired by the Washington Capitals, this coming fall. The 16-ounce cans of the IPA will be available around Washington and in the Capital One Arena in just a few months, but the company is looking for a fan to design a second label for the brew. (WTOP)
