Snake with two heads found in Woodbridge; Arlington County Board vetoes Virginia Hospital Center expansion

Last week, The Wildlife Center of Virginia reported that a two-headed copperhead snake was found in a Woodbridge backyard, and now the snake may be kept at an educational facility.

Saturday, the Arlington County Board rejected plans for an expansion of the Virginia Hospital Center, saying that homeowners’ concerns must be addressed and that the board will consider the expansion again in three months.

Lee County Public Schools’ plan to allow school employees to carry firearms was rejected by the Virginia Department of Criminal Justice Services. The schools’ superintendent, Brian Austin, can appeal the decision until Oct. 13.

Loudoun County’s Board of Supervisors has approved a plan to widen Virginia Route 15 between Battlefield Parkway and Montresor Road from two lanes to four.
