Reston Town Center Concerts on the Town
Reston Town Center’s Concerts on the Town series returns for its 30th season. Every Saturday, enjoy a free concert at the Pavilion. The series will kick off this season as part of the Tephra ICA Arts Festival on May 20. Kids and dogs are welcome. Shirlington Spring Fling
The streets around the Village at Shirlington will close on Saturday, May 20 to make way for a fun-filled block party. Visitors can expect live music, sports and games, a pop-up Maker’s Market, and kids’ activities. The shopping center allows guests to sip and stroll throughout the designated area any day, not just during the event. Fairfax City Rock the Block
Every fourth Friday of the month, May to October, you can find live music, a beer garden, and food vendors in Fairfax’s Old Town Square. Remember to bring a chair or blanket, and leave the pets at home. Eclectic Company plays May 26, and the Part Time Coyboys on June 23. Manassas First Fridays
Once a month, Historic Downtown Manassas shuts down Center Street to make space for a lively night of fun. Restaurants offer specialty food and drinks, which you can enjoy while you stroll the block. Each month takes on a fun theme – look forward to Jazzy June, with live jazz performances on June 2. Historic Downtown Manassas, 6-9 p.m., first Friday of every month
Leesburg First Fridays
On the first Friday of every month, downtown Leesburg is full of live music, art exhibits, wine tastings, and more. Plus, some of the restaurants and boutiques stay open until at least 9 p.m. and often offer special deals. Downtown Leesburg, times vary, first Friday of every month except January
Summer JAMS
In addition to the First Fridays, downtown Leesburg will also hold a weekly summer concert series. The concerts will take place every Saturday from June to August, except on July 1 and August 12. Some acts to look forward to are the Lenny Burridge Trio on June 3, Juliet Lloyd on July 8, and Smallwood & Fath on August 5. Bring a lawn chair or blanket. No smoking, alcohol, or pets are permitted. Shows will be cancelled in the case of inclement weather. Leesburg Town Green: 25 W. FXBG First Fridays
Fredericksburg’s First Friday events celebrate the city’s downtown community with extended business hours, street performances, and art activities. Visitors can purchase drinks at participating restaurants and enjoy them while walking around within the marked areas. A free trolley shuttles guests around the arts and business district until 8:30 p.m. Downtown Fredericksburg, 5–9 p.m., first Friday of every month
Chillin’ on Church
Vienna’s summertime block parties rock. Expect a lineup of six to 10 food trucks, wine and beer, and live music. This summer’s entertainment lineup features bands, including Texas Chainsaw Horns and Diamond Alley. Church Street, Vienna, 6:30–9:30 p.m., third Friday of the month June–September
Fort Hunt Concerts
Everyone is welcome at the weekly community concerts in Alexandria’s Fort Hunt Park. This summer’s lineup includes the National Concert Band on June 4 and the Vienna Community Band on June 25. Concerts take place at Pavilion A. There will be some picnic tables available, but visitors should plan to bring their own chair or blanket.
