Tipping the Scales
I have a lifelong fixation on anything animatronic, but especially dinosaurs. I’m planning to wave hello to T. rex’s floppy little arms and absolutely pretend the robots are real at Jurassic Quest in Fredericksburg. Will I be the sole creepy adult without a kid there? Possibly, but my joy will overcome any embarrassment. –Alice Levitt, food editor/critic
Splish Splash
This spring, my parents are finally putting in a pool, and to say the family is excited is an understatement. Until then, I’ll be spending my winter weekends swimming laps at these indoor pools and lounging on the lazy river at Long Bridge Aquatics & Fitness Center. –Michele Kettner, associate digital & research editor
Cream of the Crop
These winter-white clothing finds are everything! They have me craving a shopping fix (especially the vegan-leather motocross leggings–so perfect with a cozy sweater and boots). –Kelly Kendall, editor
Lobster Dinner
It looks like the three-Michelin-star chef and owner of the Inn at Little Washington is now making food that doesn’t cost you the price of a vacation to eat, at his more casual cafe and bakery, Patty O’s. And the dishes still look interesting–pan-roasted lobster with grapefruit-butter sauce sounds like a pretty great winter pick-me-up. –James Finley, senior editor
