Going Wild
I’m not much of a hiker (I was totally disabled with Lyme disease for almost seven years), but I am an over-the-top animal lover. This article about the spotting wildlife in Prince William Forest Park has inspired me to tuck my pants into my socks, spray on some insect deterrents, and find some new pals to behold in their natural habitat. –Alice Levitt, food editor/critic
Bright Lights, Big City
As a Christmas light fanatic, I’ve been obsessed with Enchant Christmas since it was announced that the light maze was coming to DC. I wasn’t able to go back in 2019 for the inaugural display, but it has been on my holiday to-do calendar since its return was announced back in August. Since it’s the world’s largest light maze, I’m going to read up on the winter wonderland before trying to navigate the magical Christmas village. –Michele Kettner, associate digital & research editor
Casual Christmas
It looks like Assembly, the borderline-ritzy new food hall we reported on at its recent opening, is embracing holiday specials, with cocktails (a figgy bourbon fizz), coffees (gingerbread macchiato), and treats (peppermint sprinkle doughnuts). Might make sense for a festive-but-casual, holiday work lunch or happy hour. –James Finley, senior editor
Merry and Bright
I love the idea of these lighted igloos as a place to cozy up with a cocktail this winter! –Kelly Kendall, editor
