Prix-Fixe Blitz
As of today, there are two Restaurant Weeks taking place simultaneously in NoVA. That means a lot of multicourse meals for us food lovers. The coolest part? Both Metropolitan Washington Winter Restaurant Week and Alexandria Restaurant Week To-Go allow diners to take part at home. I’ve got some enviable takeout ahead of me. – Alice Levitt, food editor/critic
Rise and Shine
The people who know me best know that I am not an early riser. My night owl tendencies love getting some extra shut eye, especially during these cold winter mornings. But as it turns out, the winter season has more dramatic and colorful sunrises than the summer. So, this weekend I’ll set a few alarms and pack on the layers to take in the sunrise on the patio with a hot cup of cocoa. If you can’t catch a great view of the sunrise, head to one of these spots around NoVA. – Michele Kettner, Associate Digital & Research Editor
Being a Kid Again
When I was a kid, there was a hill in my neighbor’s backyard and on snow days, we would spend hours sledding down it. All the neighborhood kids had quite a collection of sleds and I just have such fond memories of those winter days. I’m hoping for some sledding days this winter, but if we don’t get any, there’s always tubing at a nearby ski resort. We rounded up the best tubing destinations in the region–and got some tips from an expert. Check it out here and join me in feeling like a kid again. – Katie Bianco, editor
