Though we may be months away from launching your catamaran, whizzing around the lake on jet skis or navigating the backwaters on an ocean kayak, there’s a surefire way to get ready for fun on the water: the Fredericksburg Boat Show.
The 16th annual event is being held Jan. 15, 16 and 17 at the Fredericksburg Expo Center. Current and aspiring sailors and captains will find the best pricing and incentives on the latest models in boats, personal watercraft and new marine technologies and accessories, as well as exclusive Boat Show Deals.
Dealers include Chesdin Boat Sales, Fredericksburg Motor Sports, Galahad Marine Sales, Lake of the Woods Marine & Service Plaza, Mid-Atlantic Watersports, Prince William Marina and Stepps Harbor View Marina, while vendors include Parker Boat Club of Virginia, Hawaiian Moon, The SCUBA Shack and Vacation Village Resorts, who is serving as the lobby sponsor.
Because of COVID-19, entry is by time slot and tickets must be purchased online. General admission is $10, and everyone over the age of 3 needs a ticket for entry; Friday, Jan. 15 has been designated as Senior Day, with a $5 admission price for seniors. Hours for the show are 1 p.m. to 7 p.m. on Jan. 15, 10 a.m. to 7 p.m. on Jan. 16 and 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. on Jan. 17.
The Expo Center is located off I-96 at Exit 130B, halfway between Washington, DC and Richmond and an hour’s drive from Dulles International, Richmond International and Ronald Reagan National Airports. Parking is free, ATMs are available onsite and the food court will be open during the event offering beverages, salads, deli and hot sandwiches, pizza, burgers, hot dogs, chicken tenders and snacks. There are three hotels located within walking distance of the facility: the Hampton Inn & Suites Fredericksburg at Celebrate Virginia, Hilton Garden Inn Fredericksburg and Homewood Suites by Hilton at Celebrate Virginia.
