This summer has been all about drive-in and outdoor movies. While the temperature is starting to take a dip at night, there is still time to take in a movie outdoors. This month Rosslyn Cinema will be returning to Gateway Park in Arlington for four weeks of family-friendly flicks.
The outdoor movie series will take place on Fridays from Oct. 2-23. Check-in will begin at 6:15 p.m. for each showing and the movie will start at sundown, which is around 7 p.m. Since there is limited space available, all attendees must register beforehand. Registration will open the Wednesday before each movie.
There will be four movies shown at Gateway Park during the month of October. Those include The Princess and The Frog (Oct. 2), You’ve Got Mail (Oct. 9), Remember the Titans (Oct. 16) and Hocus Pocus (Oct. 23).
If you are attending one of these movies, there will be no alcohol permitted at the park. Also, there will be no food vendors at the event. Attendees are welcome to bring their own snacks or some takeout from a nearby Rosslyn restaurant.
The event has also put in place additional safety regulations to ensure all guests stay safe. The first is that all groups in attendance will be limited to a maximum of six people. Seating will also be based on group size to allow social distancing between guests. Attendees will be required to wear a mask and practice physical distancing when outside of their assigned section. // 1300 Lee Highway, Arlington; free
