Finders keepers: A new Manassas-based recreation and entertainment company, Treasure Quest Adventures, will soon be launching a series of five real-world treasure hunts throughout the Northern Virginia region, each with a hidden prize worth $10,000.
“Our goal is to curate entertaining, COVID-conscious treasure quests that send participants on real-world adventures,” said company founder Ian Lovejoy in a recent press release.
The company will use virtual and real-world clues to lead participants to the prizes, competing against one another and the clock. The skill-based clues will each become more difficult to solve, including puzzles and riddles. The first person to find the prize keeps it.
Treasure Quest Adventures is currently organizing five quests to be held throughout the DMV this summer, starting in Prince William County on Saturday, Aug. 22, then in Loudoun, Fairfax, Arlington and Montgomery counties, with plans to expand from there.
“Our hope is to give the community something positive and fun to focus on—something families can do together that gets folks out of the house safely and encourages them to explore their community in a new way,” said Lovejoy in the press release.
Each quest has a limit on how many people can participate, and tickets are expected to sell out quickly. To learn more, or to register for the treasure hunts, visit finishthequest.com.
