Supporting local businesses has arguably never been more important, as many have temporarily closed their doors during the coronavirus pandemic. One of the easiest ways to do so is to support their virtual efforts.
ALX at Home, Visit Alexandria’s new hub with virtual tours and over 100 resources to support Alexandria businesses, has launched its most recent component, called ALX at Home LIVE. The weekly Facebook Live series happens every Tuesday at 2 p.m., and watchers can tune in through Visit Alelxandria’s Facebook page.
The virtual sessions are held with local businesses and offer how-to videos, guided desk-side exercises, crafts and more. Officially launched on March 31, the first episode featured Alexandria’s town crier, Ben Fiore-Walker, debuting a special, original cry for the city.
On April 7, AR Workshop Alexandria will be hosting a craft tutorial; on April 14, the Carlyle House will host a virtual tour; Old Town Books will offer a virtual story time on April 21; and Mind the Mat will lead viewers through wellness exercises on April 28.
