Budget-friendly barbecue and bluegrass? Count me in.
When looking for things to do around here, free is key. This week, Breaux Vineyard’s 7th Annual BBQ and Bluegrass Festival caught my eye, offering free admission, two three-hour band performances, vendors, wine tastings and eats from the Hog-It-Up food truck. –RK // 36888 Breaux Vineyards Lane, Purcellville
Opening: Popculture Craft Pops
You know how when you learn a new word, you start hearing that word everywhere? Well, same thing with desserts. With sweets still on the brain from working on the August cover story, here’s one more option: Popculture Craft Pops. The grand opening is this weekend, though a Facebook post hints at a few soft-opening days this week. (P.S.: more pops) –SG // 737 E. Main St., Purcellville
Let the (board) games begin
While my days of achieving athletic glory are in the rearview, I can still have a bit of a competitive streak when it comes to board games. I’ll have the chance to put that to the test at The Board Room VA, playing the newly released games Disney Villainous!, Woodlands and Ya Blew It! Let’s settle it on the board. –MB // 925 N.
