On the outer rim of Potomac Mills Mall is a space where you can forget about all your worries and the traffic surrounding you. Bahama Breeze is a Caribbean-themed joint that lives up to its name. The bar is open with greenery all around. The outdoor patio pumps up live music that you forget you are actually in a mall parking lot. Bartenders can serve up almost any fruity concoction you can think of and chefs bring in the sweet with seafood focused bites (firecracker shrimp, lobster and shrimp quesadillas, crab cakes, jerk shrimp) along with crispy treats (Key West nachos, spinach dip and chips, onion rings) and carnivore dishes (beef empanadas, chicken quesadillas, Jamaican chicken wings). There is always something going on at Brew Republic Bierwerks in Stonebridge at Potomac Town Center. There’s karaoke nights, open mic nights and weekend morning yoga events. Finz Raw Bar & Grille comes Public House Kitchen and Brewery, a restaurant and brewery in Old Town Manassas that is done up in a clean, minimalist aesthetic with soft lighting that bounces off the white subway tile-backed bar, dark walls and wood bar top and tables. The welcoming atmosphere comes from the owner’s focus on community. They source from local growers when possible, both for their food and brews, and then work with those growers again with spent grains going back to the farmers. The small outpost by the minds behind the popular Trummer’s on Main opened up a coffee and wine bar in Gainesville in 2015.
