Girls, the Final Season
Premiered Feb. 12, 10 p.m.
Yeah, that was yesterday, but who actually watches TV in real time anymore? I’ve invested too many years to not finish Girls, a series I love and loathe. I’ll be watching at some point this week, mostly for Shosh, duh. –SG
Celebrating Galentine’s Day
Great things about this Leslie Knope-invented holiday (Feb. 13, before it’s all about romance) include: waffles, brunch cocktails and recognizing the great ladies in your life, near and far. –WD
Watching Casablanca at Angelika Mosaic
Feb. 14, 7 p.m.
I’m one of those folks who actually likes Valentine’s Day, and I am psyched to see Casablanca on the big screen with my husband that night. I’m making out a Valentine to the Angelika Film Center. –EB // Angelika Film Center Mosaic: 2911 District Ave., Fairfax
Anti-Valentine’s Day but pro-candy
While I’m not a huge fan of Valentine’s Day (I specifically ask my husband to not even mention it to me), my kids do like candy. Instead of going the traditional route of picking options at Target or the grocery store, I’m going to head to the newly opened Rocket Fizz in Village at Leesburg to up my candy game. –LN
Team Latte Art Competition
Feb. 16, 7-10 p.m.
Coffee District hosts a latte art competition with a heartfelt theme at Chantilly’s Cafein. Contestants will spin the Wheel of Spromance to determine what milky design to “draw.” Team registration is $20; tickets are free. –SG // 13924 Metrotech Drive, Chantilly
Listening to Ryan Adams’ Prisoner
Out Feb. 17
Prolific singer-songwriter Ryan Adams returns with his 16th album, Prisoner. It’s his first album of original material since his 2014 self-titled effort and his most concise album to date. (His full-album cover of Taylor Swift’s 1989 landed in 2015, only working half the time.) I’m definitely excited to hear more following lead singles “Do You Still Love Me?” and “To Be Without You” and hoping for the chance to see him live after stellar performances in D.C. and Charlottesville. –BK
Petite Loulou Grand Opening Fete
Feb. 18, 10 a.m.
A restaurant publicist and her chef-husband open their Parisian creperie and cafe, Petite Loulou, in Purcellville this weekend. The first 50 guests are in for one year of complimentary crepes. –SG // 713 E. Main St., Purcellville
Waxing the City 50 percent off opening special
This franchise out of Denver opened an outlet last week in Del Ray and is running a 50 percent discount for each customer’s first visit. Spring break vacation isn’t too far away … –SG // 2727 Mount Vernon Ave., Alexandria
