Beginning May 19, Alexandria, Fairfax and Washington D.C. will host the GI Film Festival, an annual festival honoring American troops. This star-studded event will run all week and feature over 50 film screenings (including film premieres and early releases), celebrity and veteran appearances and special workshops and after parties.
The event kicks off next Monday at Alexandria’s Old Town Theatre with the world premiere of “Field of Lost Shoes“, the story of young VMI cadets called into battle to defend the Shenandoah Valley during the Civil War. David Arquette, who plays Capt. Henry A. du Pont in the film, will be in attendance at the premier.

The week will also include appearances by Gary Sinise, James Gandolfini’s family, Adam Driver, Ron Livingston and Michelle Monaghan, with a number of the actors starring in films being showcased during the festival.
Tickets are still available for the GIFF–you can purchase a V.I.P. All-Access Pass for $245, a Weekend Warrior (2-day) Pass for $70 or single issue tickets ranging from $12-$50 depending on the event. Check out the full schedule of events and get tickets here.
