Alzheimer’s disease, and other forms of dementia, impact 5.7 million people in the U.S., per the Alzheimer’s Association. While recent news shows that there is some progress being made in ways to treat the memory loss disease, many families are looking for the best way to care for their loved ones that are diagnosed with it now, not down the road.
One such option is a memory care facility. Memory care services, often provided through a senior living center, strive to create environments for individuals with dementia where they can feel comfortable, establish routines and receive treatments that assist with their memories. Thankfully, there are a number of memory care centers throughout Northern Virginia, each with their own unique offerings.
Sunrise Senior Living

Arden Courts
The pair of Arden Courts locations in NoVA are solely focused on memory care. As new residents arrive at Arden Courts, their individual schedules are carefully crafted through an assessment, which sets the specifics for care, including directly involving the family if desired. Also, families that are caring for a loved one with Alzheimer’s themselves can take advantage of respite care at Arden Courts, allowing for Arden to take over care for a temporary period. This not only helps the family recharge their batteries, but new interactions can be beneficial for someone dealing with dementia. // Arden Courts of Fair Oaks: 12469 Lee Jackson Memorial Highway, Fairfax; Arden Courts of Annandale: 7104 Braddock Road, Annandale
