For the past three years, NoVA resident Doug Frantzen has been inspiring a healthy community through E60 Fitness, his boutique fitness studio based in Rosslyn. And now, in the midst of a global pandemic, Frantzen plans to bring his full-body-focused, comprehensive workouts to a brand-new studio underneath the West Alex apartment building in Alexandria.
“Our mission at E60 Fitness has always been to inspire healthier living, so the larger the community we can reach, the closer we get to reaching that mission,” says Frantzen of the move. “We didn’t want to limit our ability to serve the community so we looked for a location close enough to share resources with our existing facility but far enough that we could extend into a new community.”
The new site, currently expected to open in mid-September, is 500 square feet larger than the Rosslyn location, giving Frantzen, his team and E60 Fitness members more free space for movement. According to Frantzen, the layout of the upcoming space is different, as there is a private area for personal training where those who are less comfortable in a visible setting can train. The location also includes a private shower and bathrooms, lockers and free garage parking for members to utilize.
At both E60 Fitness locations, certified trainers curate effective workouts for all members, including exercises like cardio intervals, resistance training and more unique practices like boxing and barre, all of which target varying areas of the body.
While Frantzen is hopeful for a mid-September opening, he is keeping an eye on the coronavirus pandemic, as well as current construction of the new space, which may delay the opening. For updates, check out the 360Fitness Instagram page. // 3464 Berkeley St., Alexandria
