If running to catch the Metro before your train departs from the station isn’t enough of a workout for the morning, Rosslyn residents can soon take to a treadmill or climb a stair climber (rather than an escalator) at the incoming Gold’s Gym facility.
The 30,000-square-foot facility will be housed in the building above the Rosslyn Metro Station, where a food hall has also been announced, and is being renovated by American Real Estate Partners for a $35 million face lift at Rosslyn City Center.
The company has announced that the new location will feature a 1,400-square-foot outdoor terrace for training. A majority of the facility will be devoted to group fitness spaces, personal training lessons, individual equipment and member locker rooms.
According to Washington Business Journal, many have suspected the Gold’s Gym in Rosslyn on Nash Street would close when Monday Properties began redeveloping the surrounding buildings at 1400 Key and 1401 Wilson boulevards, but this has yet to be confirmed by the company.
The location is projected to open in the third quarter of 2020.
