Row, row, row your … machine.
It doesn’t have quite the same ring to it as the catchy kids tune, but at The Row House you can do just that. The boutique fitness studio has under 20 locations across the United States and is set to open its first in NoVA on July 25, at 917 North Street in Alexandria.
The studio will feature 45-minute rowing classes based on six different workouts, some of which will include floor elements beyond the machine and will differ in level of intensity; all are low-impact and can appeal to varying athletic abilities.
The workout is designed to be individually based on the participant’s own output, but will also feature a sense of camaraderie in the group setting (classes will include no more than 25 people at a time), with a large screen behind the coach that will project everyone’s statistics in real time. The statistics include split time (based on how quickly a participant covers a certain distance), and total meters traveled.
When the class concludes, each person will receive an individualized email where they can view their statistics of the day, as well as their overall distance traveled from every class combined.
If you’re looking for a step up from your typical rowing workout at the gym, the location will be offering a free first class once the studio opens to interested individuals, and is currently running a special founding membership rate of 20% off your monthly due rates for life if you sign up prior to the opening.
Rates range from $99 for four classes per month to $209 for unlimited, monthly classes.
