Hopefully, this Fairfax County Public Schools employee will get a taste of victory.
Michele Fred Karabin, an employment and transition representative who works at Hayfield Secondary School in Alexandria, according to FCPS, is competing for a spot on the MasterChef roster Wednesday night at 8 p.m. to represent Virginia. Cooks from the South are vying for the final five aprons on the show.
Karabin says it’s the sixth time she’s auditioned.
The first was in New York City. Then DC. Chicago. Texas.
“Then two years of zoom auditions got me to today,” she wrote in a Facebook post.
“In 2018 I told my dad that I would one day be on MasterChef, unknowingly it was the last words I said to him. He passed away the next morning. Is that the only reason I kept trying? No. I have always told my daughters ‘all you have to do is set a goal (then do the work)’ I wanted to show them and all new empty nesters like me, that no matter your age, there is no dream too big!”
Karabin thanked her family for all the support as she battles for a spot on the roster in LA.
Watch MasterChef at 8 p.m. on Fox or online to see if Karabin makes the cut.
